NIN COMPULSORY FOR WASSCE CANDIDATES FROM 2022
■ The Head of Nigeria Office, West Africa Examinations Council, Mr. Patrick Areghan has announced that the National Identification Number (NIN) will become a major requirement for registering for its Senior Secondary Certificate Examination with effect from 2022.
Briefing the press on Tuesday, he said the 2021 WASSCE will commence on August 16 and end on October 8, 2021. He charged students in SS1 and SS2 to start registration for NIN against 2022. Continuing, the exam board head said the directive is in line with the Nigeria’s government policy to all its parastatals which includes the Federal Ministry of Education.
Mr Patrick Areghan explained that 19,425 approved secondary schools, which comprises of 8,052 public and 11,373 private schools would be presenting 1,573,789 candidates for the 2021 WASSCE.
